Live coverage from court as Pawel Relowicz accused of 'rape and murder' of Libby Squire before dumping her in river
The first witnesses are expected to be called today in the trial of Pawel Relowicz who is accused of raping and murdering Hull student Libby Squire.
Libby vanished in the early hours of February 1, 2019, after enjoying a night out with friends. Her body was found in the Humber six weeks later.
At the first day of his trial on Tuesday, the prosecution said Relowicz had raped and murdered Libby after cruising around the University area of Hull looking for potential victims. Relowicz has denied the charges at Sheffield Crown Court before Mrs Justice Lambert.
Libby, a University of Hull student, had been turned away from the Welly nightclub late on January 31 and after getting in a taxi to her home in Wellesley Avenue, was last seen on the corner of Haworth Street and Beverley Road in the early hours the following morning.
