MY TRIBUTE TO ROGER HUGH
A seagull crosses
Through the air
Flying with my thoughts
To the Devon sea
And I tried to signal you from the cliff
At Artedo
No one answered
The echo of my voice was lost in the ocean
Today I feel your death as that of a brother
I always admired your elegance
And your kindness beneath an irreverent air
You didn't care that I was a foreigner
I am certain
That you flew to heaven
With that seagull that came flying
All the way to Cudillero
Suzanne was the love
Of my life
But I was nothing more than a bohemian
In my heart, Roger,
There is a cherub weeping for your death
Singing at your funeral with a honeyed voice
Will we meet again in the afterlife?
