Orémus.
Deus, in cujus passióne, secúndum Simeónis prophétiam, dulcíssimam ánimam gloriósæ Vírginis et Matris Maríæ dolóris gladius pertransívit: concéde propítius; ut, qui transfixiónem ejus et passiónem venerándo recólimus, gloriósis méritis et précibus ómnium Sanctórum Cruci fidéliter astántium intercedéntibus, passiónis tuæ efféctum felícem consequámur:

R. Amen.

R. Amen.

Collect
V. The Lord be with you.
R. And with thy spirit.
Let us pray.
O God, in Whose Passion the sword, according to the prophecy of blessed Simeon, pierced through the soul of Mary, the glorious Virgin and Mother, mercifully grant that we, who reverently commemorate her piercing through and her suffering, may, by the interceding glorious merits of all the saints faithfully standing by the Cross, obtain the abundant fruit of Your passion.
Who livest and reignest with God the Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end.
R. Amen

Let us pray.
For the Feria
Graciously pour forth Your grace into our hearts, we beseech You, O Lord, that, keeping our sinful inclinations under control by self-denial, we may suffer for a brief while rather than be condemned to everlasting punishment.
Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end.
R. Amen.

Léctio libri Judith.
Judith 13:22, 23-25
R. Deo gratias.

Lesson
Lesson from the book of Judith
Judith 13:22, 25.
The Lord has blessed you by His power, Who by you has brought our enemies to nought. Blessed are you, O daughter, by the Lord the Most High God, above all women upon the earth. Blessed be the Lord Who made heaven and earth, because He has so magnified your name this day, that your praise shall not depart out of the mouth of men, who shall be mindful of the power of the Lord forever: for you have not spared your life by reason of the distress and tribulation of your people, but have prevented our ruin in the presence of our God.
R. Thanks be to God.

Graduale
Dolorósa et lacrimábilis es, Virgo María, stans juxta Crucem Dómini Jesu, Fílii tui, Redemptóris.
V. Virgo Dei Génetrix, quem totus non capit orbis, hoc crucis fert supplícium, auctor vitæ factus homo.

Tractus. Stabat sancta María, coeli Regína et mundi Dómina, juxta Crucem Dómini nostri Jesu Christi dolorósa.
Thren 1:12

Sequentia
Stabat Mater dolorósa
Juxta Crucem lacrimósa,
Dum pendébat Fílius.

Cujus ánimam geméntem,
Contristátam et doléntem
Pertransívit gládius.

O quam tristis et afflícta
Fuit illa benedícta
Mater Unigéniti!

Quæ mærébat et dolébat,
Pia Mater, dum vidébat
Nati poenas íncliti.

Quis est homo, qui non fleret,
Matrem Christi si vidéret
In tanto supplício?

Quis non posset contristári,
Christi Matrem contemplári
Doléntem cum Fílio?

Pro peccátis suæ gentis
Vidit Jesum in torméntis
Et flagéllis súbditum.

Vidit suum dulcem
Natum Moriéndo desolátum,
Dum emísit spíritum.

Eja, Mater, fons amóris,
Me sentíre vim dolóris
Fac, ut tecum lúgeam.

Fac, ut árdeat cor meum
In amándo Christum Deum,
Ut sibi compláceam.

Sancta Mater, istud agas,
Crucifixi fige plagas
Cordi meo válida.

Tui Nati vulneráti,
Tam dignáti pro me pati,
Poenas mecum dívide.

Fac me tecum pie flere,
Crucifíxo condolére,
Donec ego víxero.

Juxta Crucem tecum stare
Et me tibi sociáre
In planctu desídero.

Virgo vírginum præclára.
Mihi jam non sis amára:
Fac me tecum plángere.

Fac, ut portem Christi mortem,
Passiónis fac consórtem
Et plagas recólere.

Fac me plagis vulnerári,
Fac me Cruce inebriári
Et cruóre Fílii.

Flammis ne urar succénsus,
Per te, Virgo, sim defénsus
In die judícii.

Christe, cum sit hinc exíre.
Da per Matrem me veníre
Ad palmam victóriæ.

Quando corpus moriétur,
Fac, ut ánimæ donétur
Paradísi glória.
Amen.

Gradual
Sorrowful and tearful are you, O Virgin Mary, standing by the Cross of the Lord Jesus, your Son and Redeemer.
V. O Virgin Mother of god, He Whom the whole earth contains not, the Author of life, made man, bears this anguish of the Cross.

Tractus
Holy Mary, Queen of heaven and Mistress of the world, filled with sorrow, stood by the Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
V. Lam. 1:12 O all you that pass by the way, attend and see if there be any sorrow like to my sorrow. In votive Masses throughout the year the Gradual is as above, but in place of the Tract is said or sung: Alleluia, alleluia.
V. Holy Mary, Queen of heaven and Mistress of the world, stood, filled with sorrow, by the Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Alleluia.

Sequentia
At the Cross her station keeping,
Stood the mournful Mother weeping,
Close to Jesus to the last.

Through her heart, His sorrow sharing,
All His bitter anguish bearing
Now at length the sword had passed.

Oh, how sad and sore distressed
Was that Mother highly blessed
Of the sole begotten One!

Christ above in torment hangs,
She beneath beholds the pangs
Of her dying, glorious Son.

Is there one who would not weep
‘Whelmed in miseries so deep
Christ’s dear Mother’s pain untold.

Can the human heart refrain
From partaking in her pain,
In that Mother’s pain untold?

Bruised, derided, cursed, defiled,
She beheld her tender Child,
All with bloody scourges rent.

For the sins of His own nation
Saw Him hang in desolation
Till His spirit forth He sent.

O sweet Mother! fount of love,
Touch my spirit from above,
Make my heart with yours accord.

Make me feel as you have felt;
Make my soul to glow and melt
With the love of Christ, my Lord.

Holy Mother, pierce me through,
In my heart each wound renew
Of my Savior crucified.

Let me share with you His pain,
Who for all our sins was slain,
Who for me in torments died.

Mix’d with yours let my tears be,
Mourning Him Who mourned for me,
All the days that I may live.

By the Cross with you to stay,
There with you to weep and pray,
Is all I ask of you to give.

Virgin of all virgins blest!
Listen to my fond request:
Let me share that grief of yours.

Let me, to my latest breath,
In my body bear the death
Of that dying Son of yours.

Wounded with His every wound,
Steep my soul till it has swooned
In His very Blood away.

Be to me, O Virgin, nigh,
Lest in flames I burn and die,
In this awful judgment day.

Christ, when You shall call me hence,
Be Your Mother my defense,
Be Your Cross my victory.

While my body here decays,
May my soul Your goodness praise,
Safe in heaven eternally.
Amen.

Creed
I believe in one God, the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things, visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God. And born of the Father, before all ages. God of God: Light of Light: true God of true God. Begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father, by whom all things were made. Who, for us men, and for our salvation, came down from heaven. And became incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary: and was made man. He was crucified also for us, suffered under Pontius Pilate, and was buried. And the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures. And ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of the Father. And He shall come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead, of whose kingdom there shall be no end.
And in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life, proceeding from the Father and the Son. Who together, with the Father and the Son, is adored and glorified: Who spoke by the prophets. And in one, holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the remission of sins. And I look for the resurrection of the dead. And the life of the world to come. Amen.

Secret
O Lord Jesus Christ, we offer You prayers and sacrificial gifts, humbly beseeching You that, as we prayerfully recall the piercing of the most sweet soul of Your blessed Mother Mary, so through the merits of Your death and the manifold intercession of her and her holy friends at the foot of the Cross, we may have our reward with the blessed.
Who livest and reignest with God the Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end.
R. Amen
For FERIA
Grant us, O merciful God, that we may ever have the grace to serve Your altars worthily, and may we be saved by constantly partaking of the sacrifice.
Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end.
R. Amen.

Holy Cross
It is truly meet and just, right and for our salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks unto Thee, O holy Lord, Father almighty, everlasting God; Who didst establish the salvation of mankind on the tree of the Cross; that whence death came, thence also life might arise again, and that he, who overcame by the tree, by the tree also might be overcome: Through Christ our Lord. Through whom the Angels praise Thy Majesty, the Dominations worship it, the Powers stand in awe. The Heavens and the heavenly hosts together with the blessed Seraphim in triumphant chorus unite to celebrate it. Together with these we entreat Thee that Thou mayest bid our voices also to be admitted while we say with lowly praise:

Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Sabaoth! Heaven and earth are full of Thy glory! Hosanna in the highest! Blessed is He that cometh in the Name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!

The beginning of the holy Gospel according to John.
R. Glory be to Thee, O Lord.
Joann. 1, 1-14.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him, and without Him was made nothing that was made: in Him was life, and the life was the Light of men; and the Light shineth in darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to testify concerning the Light, that all might believe through Him. He was not the Light, but he was to testify concerning the Light.
That was the true Light, which enlighteneth every man that cometh into this world. He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him to them He gave power to become sons of God, to them that believe in His Name, who are born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. Here all kneel. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us: and we saw His glory, the glory as of the Only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
R. Thanks be to God.

P. Hail Mary, full of grace; The Lord is with thee; Blessed art thou amongst women, And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
A. Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

A. Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us. And after this our exile, show unto us the blessed Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
P. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
O. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

P. Let us pray. O God, our refuge and our strength, look down in mercy on Thy people who cry to Thee; and by the intercession of the glorious and immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God, of St. Joseph her Spouse, of Thy blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, and of all the Saints, in mercy and goodness hear our prayers for the conversion of sinners, and for the liberty and exaltation of our holy Mother and Church. Through the same Christ our Lord.

A. Holy Michael Archangel, defend us in the day of battle; be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. -- May God rebuke him, we humbly pray: and do thou, Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God thrust down to hell Satan and all wicked spirits, who wander through the world for the ruin of souls.

A Roman Catholic priest who fell in love with his housekeeper defrauded his parish of more than £50,000 while lavishing her and her daughters with gifts.
Father John Reid, 70 was supposed to live a simple life, but spent £1,200 on a canteen of cutlery, was a member of the Sunday Times Wine Club and spent £80 on oysters and smoked salmon while holidaying in Scotland.
Jane Waugh, prosecuting, said the priest, now living in Stockton, had joined the parish in 2009 and accounts showed spending increased fourfold in some areas after he took over.

She said "female clothing" had been found in the bedrooms and passports belonging to the housekeeper Gillian Leddy and her two daughters had been found in the safe.
The court heard that Fr Reid told police he had fallen in love with Gillian Leddy, and saw her daughters, Veronica and Alice, as "the family that he never had".
During the inquiry, it emerged that the priest gave property and money to the Leddys on a "large scale", buying two homes each for Veronica and Alice, a car each and financing a cafe business for them.
He also gave them both substantial amounts of cash. But Ms Waugh said the money for these gifts came from an inheritance of the priest, not the result of fraud.
Fr Reid accepted taking the Leddys out to eat "a few times a week". Over the four years he was at St Cuthbert's, his basic remuneration should have totalled £31,455.

But he disbursed to himself more than £113,000 from parish cheques. He wrote more than 150 cheques to himself, most of which were co-signed by Veronica Leddy.
"In particular, there had been dramatic increases within the categories of general administration, housekeeping and hospitality," said Ms Waugh.
"This would appear to be because Gillian, Alice and Veronica Leddy, who are mother and daughters and close friends of the defendant from his previous parish at Willington, were effectively living at the presbytery and the defendant's expenditure increased to reflect the fact that he was helping to support them financially.
"This additional expenditure was claimed back from the Church, in expenses, by the defendant," she added.
Christopher Knox, defending, spoke of 15 character references and said the priest expressed "great distress, regret and apology".
Fr Reid was handed an 18-month suspended sentence at Durham Crown Court after he admitted fraud by abuse of position at a previous hearing.
He has agreed to pay back the £50,000 within three months

bendita inocencia me case para tener hijos i am family man

nuestro padre y redentor
amarrado a la columna
danos el agua, Señor
dadnos el agua, Señor, aunque no
lo merezcamos
que si por merecer fuere
ni la tierra que pisamos
por la corona de espinas
que tu frente taladró
los dolores de mis culpas
danos el agua Señor
Santo Cristo del Amparo
que estás entre dos caminos
danos el agua Señor
que se nos secan los trigos
En Cuba tenemos guerra
llevan  de España la flor
y si no llueve Dios mío

No parecía muerta
De los arcos macizos
Parecía dormir en la penumbra
Y que en sueños veía el paraíso
M e acerqué de la nave
El ángulo sombrío
Como quien llega con callada planta
Sobre la cuna donde duerme un niño
La contemple un momento
Y aquel resplandor tibio
Aquel lecho que ofrecía
Próximo al muro
Otro lugar vacío
En mi alma avivaron
La sed de lo infinito
El ansia de la muerte
Para la que un instante son  siglos
Cansado del combate
En el que luchando vivo
Alguna vez recuerdo con envidia
Aquel rincón oscuro y escondido
De aquella muda y pálida mujer
Me acuerdo y digo

ENGLAND MADE ME

  • you took them all – dijiste: te los llevaste todos tú
God save the queen.
