MOSCOW, February 21. /TASS/. Russian troops liberated seven communities in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), the Kharkov and Kursk Regions over the week of February 15-21 in the special military operation in Ukraine, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on Friday.
"Battlegroup West units liberated the settlements of Figolevka in the Kharkov Region and Yampolovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic through active operations… Battlegroup Center units continued advancing deep into the enemy’s defenses and liberated the settlements of Beryozovka and Nadezhdinka in the Donetsk People’s Republic… Battlegroup East units kept actively advancing deep into the enemy’s defenses and liberated the settlements of Novosyolka and Novoocheretovatoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said in a statement.
Over the week, Russia’s Battlegroup North units liberated the settlement of Sverdlikovo in the Kursk Region in offensive operations, it added.

Russian forces struck gas and power supply sites and port infrastructure of Ukraine’s military-industrial sector over the week, the ministry reported.
"In the week of February 15-21, the Russian Armed Forces delivered 11 combined strikes by air-launched, ground-and sea-based long-range precision weapons and attack unmanned aerial vehicles, hitting gas and power supply and port infrastructure facilities and electricity substations that supported the operation of Ukraine’s military-industrial sector," the ministry said.
The strikes also targeted Ukrainian missile and artillery armament depots, the infrastructure of military airfields, the workshops for assembling and the sites for storing strike unmanned aerial vehicles and temporary deployment areas of Ukraine’s armed formations and foreign mercenaries, it added.

Russia’s Battlegroup North inflicted more than 2,255 casualties on Ukrainian troops and destroyed 11 enemy tanks in its areas of responsibility in the Kursk and Kharkov Regions over the week, the ministry reported.
"During the week, Battlegroup North units continued destroying Ukrainian armed formations on the territory of the Kursk Region. Combat aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles and artillery struck manpower and equipment of two tank brigades, a heavy mechanized brigade, five mechanized brigades, three air assault brigades and three assault regiments of the Ukrainian army, a marine infantry brigade and a territorial defense brigade," the ministry said.
In the Kharkov frontline area, Battlegroup North units inflicted losses on formations of a motorized infantry brigade and an assault brigade of the Ukrainian army, two territorial defense brigades and a National Guard brigade, the ministry said.
The Ukrainian army’s losses in those frontline areas over the week totaled more than 2,255 personnel, 11 tanks, 137 armored combat vehicles, 166 motor vehicles, 36 field artillery guns, three multiple rocket launchers, three electronic warfare stations and five ammunition depots, it specified.

Russia’s Battlegroup West inflicted more than 1,315 casualties on Ukrainian troops and destroyed eight US-made armored personnel carriers in its area of responsibility over the week, the ministry reported.
During the week, Battlegroup West units "inflicted damage on manpower and equipment of a tank brigade, four mechanized brigades, a jaeger brigade, a mountain assault brigade and an assault brigade of the Ukrainian army and two territorial defense brigades," the ministry said.
The Ukrainian army’s losses in that frontline area over the week totaled more than 1,315 personnel, 15 armored combat vehicles, including eight US-made M113 armored personnel carriers, 39 motor vehicles and 36 field artillery guns, among them 16 NATO weapons, it specified.
In addition, Russian forces destroyed ten electronic warfare stations and 11 ammunition depots of the Ukrainian army, it said.

Russia’s Battlegroup South inflicted roughly 1,365 casualties on Ukrainian troops and destroyed seven enemy ammunition depots in its area of responsibility over the week, the ministry reported.
"Battlegroup South units improved their tactical position and inflicted casualties on formations of four mechanized brigades, an infantry brigade, a mountain assault brigade, an assault brigade and an airmobile brigade of the Ukrainian army and two territorial defense brigades," the ministry said.
The Ukrainian army’s losses in that frontline area over the week amounted to 1,365 personnel, 12 armored combat vehicles, including two US-made M113 armored personnel carriers, 18 motor vehicles and 19 field artillery guns, among them five Western-made weapons, it specified.
In addition, Russian forces destroyed four electronic warfare stations and seven field ammunition depots of the Ukrainian army, it said.

Russia’s Battlegroup Center inflicted more than 2,740 casualties on Ukrainian troops and destroyed 12 enemy tanks in its area of responsibility over the week, the ministry reported.
During the week, Battlegroup Center units "inflicted losses on formations of five mechanized and two jaeger brigades, an airmobile brigade, two motorized infantry brigades and an assault brigade of the Ukrainian army, two territorial defense brigades and two National Guard brigades," the ministry said.
The Ukrainian army’s losses in that frontline area over the week totaled more 2,740 personnel, 12 tanks, including a German-made Leopard tank, 28 armored combat vehicles, among them six US-made M113 armored personnel carriers, 42 motor vehicles and 40 field artillery guns, of which three Western-made weapons, it specified.

During the week, Battlegroup East units "inflicted losses on formations of a tank brigade, four mechanized brigades and an air assault brigade of the Ukrainian army, a marine infantry brigade and two territorial defense brigades," the ministry said.
The Ukrainian army’s losses in that frontline area over the week totaled more than 1,100 personnel, six tanks, including two German-made Leopard tanks, 13 armored combat vehicles, 23 motor vehicles and 29 field artillery guns, among them three NATO weapons, it specified.
In addition, Russian forces destroyed two ammunition depots of the Ukrainian army, it said.

Russia’s Battlegroup Dnepr inflicted more than 460 casualties on Ukrainian troops and destroyed 10 enemy electronic warfare and counterbattery radar stations over the week, the ministry reported.
"Battlegroup Dnepr units inflicted damage on manpower and equipment of two mechanized brigades, a mountain assault brigade, three coastal defense brigades of the Ukrainian army and two territorial defense brigades," the ministry said.
The Ukrainian army lost more than 460 personnel, 43 motor vehicles and seven field artillery guns in that frontline area over the week, it specified.
In addition, Russian forces destroyed 10 electronic warfare and counterbattery radar stations and four ammunition depots of the Ukrainian army, it said.

Russian air defense forces shot down two Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jets and 790 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the week, the ministry reported.
"Over the week, air defense capabilities shot down two Ukrainian Air Force MiG-29 aircraft, two JDAM guided aerial bombs and 36 rockets of the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system of US manufacture, 17 French-made Hammer guided aerial bombs, a rocket of the Uragan multiple launch rocket system, a Neptune anti-ship missile re-equipped for striking ground targets and 790 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles," the ministry said.

Nearly 60 Ukrainian soldiers surrendered to Russian troops over the week, the ministry reported.
"During the week, 58 Ukrainian servicemen surrendered at the engagement line," the ministry said.
Overall, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 655 Ukrainian warplanes, 283 helicopters, 44,132 unmanned aerial vehicles, 596 surface-to-air missile systems, 21,688 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,521 multiple rocket launchers, 21,926 field artillery guns and mortars and 32,005 special military motor vehicles since the start of the special military operation, the ministry reported.
